Silver Roof Chase – The Finale – (Better late then never!!)

We are rather behind the times on this update for the Silver Roof Chase, this is due to the gaffer taking his family on a well deserved holiday for a bit of sunshine! So apologies for the delay, but here we go (Finally!)

So the day arrived, 12th November, the silver roof chase was to come to an end and only 1 man could walk away with the title.

heat 1 saw #7, #101 & #606 out, who were all still in contention for the win. #606 was first to cross the line in 5th, #581 in 8th and #184 in 10th. #101 & #7 DNF.

Heat 2 NS drivers still in contention were #38, #560 & #905.   #615 was first to cross the line in 3rd, #38 7th, #817 8th & #905 limped home in 10th with a flat tire. #560 DNF.

The consi was next on track, with a few NS drivers on track, including #7, who came home 2nd from #700 and #618.

The final was hotting up to be a great race, with the atmosphere around the stadium getting more and more tense as the points got so close. The chequers were taken by #606, with #905 3rd, #581 8th, #615 9th & #700 10th. With another DNF for #7 & #38 this opened the a new window for #606, who could, with a win or 2nd place in the GN, along side another none finish for #7, take the glory and the silver!

The GN drivers took their places on the grid for the last NS race of 2017. Unfortunately, quite early on, #606 retired from the race, which we later found out was a throttle cable issue. This decided the outcome of the Silver Roof Chase before the race had even finished as #7 could no longer be challenged on points. This was not the end though as all drivers battled for valuable points which would result in not just places, but cash prizes. The final result for the GN saw #905 being the 1st NS driver across the line in 4th, 581 6th, 615 7th and #560 8th, #7 9th & #184 10th.
