Silver Roof Chase – Rounds 7 & 8 – Cowdenbeath & Barford

Last weekend saw the shootout head north for rounds 7 & 8 at Cowdenbeath & Barford. Going into the weekend the points were closer than ever, with #905 just pipping #38 to the top spot, and #7 only 8 points behind.

Cowdenbeath saw an all in format, 2 heats, final & GN. Heat 1 was taken by Cowdie regular #7, with #101 coming in 5th & #38 6th. #560, after an absence for rounds 5 & 6, took 3rd place. #905 finished out of the points after getting his front bumper wrapped round his tyre.

Heat 2 saw the NS drivers finishing again in great places, #7 2nd, #560 3rd, #101 4th & #38 5th. #905 took 8th place in front of #618 & #184.

The Final Saw 7 of the NS drivers taking top 10 places, #560 3rd, #101 4th, #905 5th, #184 7th, #488 8th, #38 9th & #618 10th.

The GN rounded up the evening with yet again a great points result for the NS drivers, #7 taking the chequers again, #38 3rd, #560 4th, #184 5th, #618 6th, #905 8th & #488 9th.

This saw a shake up at the top of the table and #38 & #7 sharing the top spot.  We also a big jump in places for #560, after some consistent places all night.

Day 2 and all headed to a very windy Barford for 2/3 format meeting.

Heat 1 was taken by #7, followed by #184. #606 was the next NS driver to cross the line in 4th, followed by #101 & #488 in 6th & 7th.

Heat 2 saw #184 placing highest in 4th, with #618 being next across the line in 7th. Heat 3′s highest NS finisher was #7 in 3rd with #618 again taking a good place in 5th.

The final was a busy race, and saw our first NS driver final winner, with #184 taking the chequers. The remaining 8 of the 10 drivers in the final were all NS participants as follows #184, #101, #560, #38, #618, #527, #488, #905, #817. 

#7 made up for his DNF in the final by taking 2nd place in the GN, with the final winner #184 getting back up for a 10th place finish from a lap down.

This again sees a big shift in the points at the top, keeping the suspense going in what is turning out to be a very successful championship format!

Another weekend of tarmac awaits for rounds 9 & 10 at Birmingham/Northampton, and we think things could really start to hot up with the all drivers still in contention mathematically of securing the Silver Roof! Lets Go Drivers!!
