F2 Opener at Kings Lynn 2nd March ’19

The traditional BriSCA F2 opener took place at Kings Lynn on Saturday 2nd March.

Overall it was a good night for TMR chassis with 3 out 5 races wins.

#12 Danny Ford started off his year in style by winning his heat and the final. After a disappointing Shootout campaign (with luck not on his side) at the end of last year, Danny had no enthusiasm for racing and his car was left outside over winter in a sorry state. 3 weeks before the meeting Danny’s better half Steph gave him a kick up the backside and the car was dragged inside, given a full rebuild and put back together just in time for the meeting. The mad rush paid off!

The other TMR victory came in the Grand National with #905 Rob Mitchell taking flag in his rebuilt car.

#26 Gary Ford had a good results with consolation 2nd and final 3rd in his TMR copy.

Our very own roll cage plate welder #212 Jak Hall had heat 5th and National 4th after leading most of the race.

South West TMR branch manager  #111 Lewis Geach stayed out of the crashes for a change, and was rewarded with 6th in his heat and 9th in the final.

Another South West driver Julian Coombes #828 was out in our hire car. The meeting was his first on shale and he enjoyed the experience, picking up pace as the night went on.

Our next planned meeting will be at Stoke on Sunday 17th March for the first world of shale qualifying round. Any shale drivers needing parts at Northampton on Saturday 16th March please let us know and we will get them down to you.
